Duke University Chapel is a chapel located at the center of the campus of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, United States. The Sunday Morning Worship Service is led by Chapel Dean Luke A. Powery as well as other Chapel ministers, ministers from the Congregation at Duke Chapel, ministers from various campus ministries, and student worship leaders.Dean Powery preaches regularly and also invites into the pulpit guest preachers. “I want the central building to be a great towering church which will dominate all of the surrounding buildings, because such an edifice would be bound to have a profound influence on the spiritual life of the young men and women who come here.” While the Duke family was Methodist, Duke Chapel services have always been ecumenical, and the Chapel itself is As a profound symbol of faith on the campus, the Chapel is a suitable institution to act as the moderator for Religious Life at Duke.

The Chapel Choir, directed by Dr. Zebulon Highben, leads the service's music. Constructed from 1930 to 1932, the Chapel seats about 1,800 people and stands 210 feet (64 m) tall, making it one of the tallest buildings in Durham County. As such it offers a magnificent gathering space for significant events in the life of the university and its members.
