Son's band (Bwaaah) were playing at 9.30 and place didn't start to fill up till about 9pm, which was a shame as there were some really good acts on earlier. Nothing was too much trouble for my mate, who walks with a crutch. Had a pint and a large wine, cost was £8.10. We got the feeling that they weren’t just told to help, more like they ALL wanted to help. Small dark room with a bar at the end, standing only, but a great three hours listening to Roachford.

There were a whole range of people there, from young teenagers to pensioners, as well as the typical club goer, with a range of outfits from the 'homeless look' to outfits befitting of Aintree ladies day! The staff were amazing, from the moment we got there to the moment we left. Went to a gig at Academy 3. All in all a great night and will definitely be visiting again to enjoy some live music by up and coming bands!Brilliant Venue and not too difficult to find/get to if you're not local to Manchester.

There were about 5 different bands playing 30 min sets from about 7.30 onwards, with a whole range of different music.



Also thought I might feel a bit out of place at a 'studenty' type venue. I went to Academy 2 last Saturday with my brother who has recently had a knee replacement.

Concert details, cast, news and reviews. Everything was far far beyond our expectations. Drinks reasonably priced (c.£5 for double vodka & orange) and not sure where previous comments about security staff come from as they are were all very polite and friendly! The band of course were awesome and it's a decent venue layout for a gig but the staff take the prize for disabled friendly! Had a pint and a large wine, cost was £8.10. If you have a disability, temporary or otherwise, don’t be afraid to visit this venue. Nice venue.
