Data Correct Königsforst is the third album by Wolfgang Voigt's Gas project. Between this, his Gas project, and his Studio One releases, Voigt has made some of the most perfectly crafted minimalist techno to ever be released. Wolfgang Voigt's four legendary GAS albums finally made available in digital formats, each album a unique take on the densely hypnotic and endlessly looping forest bound techno.

A muffled thumping bass underpins all of the tracks which consist mainly of moody synth washes and a layer of cruntchy, crackling surface noise to add texture. Originally released in 1998, Königsforst is perhaps the closest the GAS project got to the traditional notions of ambient and dub techno. Königsforst The fifth track immediately became one of the best sonic excursions I have ever heard. This reissue is cd track lengths and order from sides A-E (so includes Oktember A side as track 1). I could live in these tracks. that's why i'm writing this today, because of discogs, i'm able to have this album on vinyl (about 14 years late), and rejoice in the beauty of an album that is so forward thinking, yet so fucking simple and complex at the same time.

What a wonderful thing to experience. Funny seeing collectors try to unload these individual albums for around $200 when Box is still in stock for $140 X-D

The A1 of this LP doesn't feature on the CD, which is a crying shame as it's probably the "Gas anthem".

The vinyl version contains two songs (A1, D1) that would remain exclusive to this pressing until being appended to the end of Königsforst in the box set Box and the digital reissue.
