The Orwell quote at the beginning of the movie “Those who control the present, control the past and those who control the past control the future.” gives me the shivers when I really think about. Part 1, Chapter 4. I like old sci fi films. The 56 version is ninety mins compressed from the book.Picture quality is watchable.Enjoyed it.Included on this spanish edition is the 107 mins tv version which is why inspite of a just watchable picture .I found the tv version rather good.Happy Oh my.....one of the worst films done in history!!! My one critique is that this movie is not friendly to those who haven't read the book.
Despite bearing the ominous credit `Freely adapted from George Orwell's novel,' the much-reviled 1956 version of 1984 actually turns out to be rather good. A glimpse of what's already here, but not quite fully implemented.Released in 1984, starring John Hurt and Richard Burton.

The book spends a lot of time talking about policing language and changing the meaning of things, outlawing certain other words. The book shows a world where the people are forced into a single ideology. Directed by British filmmaker Michael Radford, Nineteen Eighty-Four is the second film adaptation of the George Orwell novel. play with Andre Morell and Peter Cushing is still the best visual production despite its budget sets. Don’t expect a large-budget Hollywood-style production. These people are so rabid they even lust after shutting down any remaining sites or outlets left that don't follow all the right talking points for thought crime. Critical self evaluation seems all but lost in this country and people are terrified of stepping outside of the boxes that they feel safe in. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 15, 2018 There is not a better warning to the potential dangers of authority and government ever to have been written. Burton's O'Brian is menacing and dangerous, he strides though this film as if he was born to play the part. Shocking how closely some things today reflect his content! A must see! Only some things were left out. Perhaps the biggest way the movie diverges from the book is the ending; in the movie, it is much more ambiguous (which I'm actually fine with). This movie is Scary.
After The Atomic War the world is divided into three states.
In a totalitarian future society, a man, whose daily work … Best film about Collectivism ever, Scary and based within the reality of authoritarian governments and fascism.

What makes this book so terrifyingly prophetic can be evidenced by all of the people in these reviews jumping to link the message with Trump. This is the second film version of George Orwell's cautionary novel. Nevertheless, the story does suffer in places for its brevity. A better rendition of the book by Orwell is not possible in my view.
